Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 12 pack of sweet rolls (like Kings Hawaiian)
  • 6 oz package of thinly sliced deli ham
  • 5 oz package of Genoa salami
  • 5 oz package of large, thin-sliced pepperoni
  • 9 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/3 cup sliced pepperoncini, drained
  • 1/3 cup sliced pickled hot cherry peppers, drained
  • 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, for dipping

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • parchment paper
  • serrated bread knife
  • small bowl
  • pastry brush
  • aluminum foil

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Using a long serrated bread knife, slice the slab of rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom slab into your prepared pan. Layer with ham, salami, pepperoni, and then the provolone cheese slices. Scatter the drained pepperoncini and hot cherry peppers evenly over the cheese.
  3. Place the top half of the rolls back on. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Italian seasoning, and crushed garlic. Generously brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls, allowing it to get into the crevices.
  4. Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the tops are golden brown. Let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For best results, drain pickled peppers well to prevent soggy buns. Be generous with the garlic butter, ensuring it covers the tops and gets into the crevices. The two-stage baking method (covered then uncovered) is crucial for melted cheese and golden-brown tops. Sliders can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance; apply butter topping just before baking.
