Ingredients

Ingredients
  • One pound Ground Pork Sausage
  • Two (2.75oz) packets Peppered Gravy Mix
  • One or two (16.3oz) cans Refrigerated Homestyle Biscuits

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • large skillet
  • saucepan
  • Pizza cutter

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grab a 9x13 inch baking dish; no need to grease it.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, until it's fully browned and crumbled. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Prepare both packets of gravy mix according to the package directions.
  4. Pour the hot gravy over the cooked sausage in the skillet and stir to combine. Pour this mixture into your 9x13 baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
  5. Open the can of refrigerated biscuits and cut each one into quarters. Scatter the biscuit pieces evenly over the top of the sausage and gravy mixture.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are puffed up and a deep golden brown, and the gravy is bubbling around the edges.
  7. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Tips: Don't crowd the biscuits; arrange them in a single, even layer to ensure they cook through. Use hot gravy to help the casserole bake more evenly. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes after baking to allow the gravy to thicken. nVariations: Add a cup of shredded sharp cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese over the gravy. Try different meats like spicy Italian sausage, ground turkey, or crumbled bacon. Add sautéed diced onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms by cooking them with the sausage.
